How Becoming handles your data.

Our stance

Becoming is built on the belief that your inner life is yours. We designed this product around data sovereignty — your records, reflections, and conversations belong to you, not us.

Your data stays on your device

All records, conversation history, recaps, and settings are stored locally on your device — IndexedDB on web, AsyncStorage on iOS and Android. Becoming does not process or access your personal data on our servers by default.

Cloud sync (opt-in)

Cloud sync is opt-in. When enabled, your data is stored with row-level security — only you can access your own data. As the service operator, we have administrative access to the database and could read stored content; we do not do this without your explicit consent. We never sell or share your data.

AI conversations

Messages you send to Cor are forwarded to Anthropic's API via a secure proxy server to generate responses. Transmissions are encrypted. Our proxy does not log message content. See Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle API data.

Accounts

Sign-in is via one-time email code — no password is stored. We collect your email address solely to authenticate you and communicate with you.

No analytics or tracking

We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party data collection tools.

Your rights

You can export all your data at any time from within the app. You can also delete your local data, cloud data, or your entire account from within the app.

Third-party services

We use third-party services to deliver the app — including cloud storage, AI processing, and hosting infrastructure. These services handle your data only as necessary to provide the features you use. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising or analytics purposes.
